Spark and Tell Monday Session II
Adnan Ezad (Instruction - High School) Using Multi-Media Software and Applications: Incorporating Subject Matter and Student Interest: This session will demonstrate how to leverage various mulit-media platforms,
particularly iMovie, Unity Game Design Engine and Audacity as different means students can choose from in order to demonstrate mastery of common content-related skills.

Anne Piascik and Debra Gottsleben (Professional Growth/Community Engagement - All) Snapshot Day: How Taking a “Selfie” Can Help You Advocate for your Library: Learn how to advocate for your library by using Snapshot Day. Snapshot Day was started by the New Jersey State Library and is a way to capture the impact that librarians have on their communities in a single day by collecting and sharing statistics, photos and stories.

Stephanie Singer (Community Engagement - Middle) Junior Librarians: Building up Your Minion Army: Over a couple years, the student volunteers in the Readington Middle School Library Media Center have increased in number and importance to the library program. The Junior Librarians help with basic duties as well as special projects around the LMC. Learn more about how this 30-student strong club has come to thrive.

Shari Stein (Digital Citizenship - Middle/High School) Crossroads: Digital Literacy and Digital Citizenship: We will explore how to weave digital citizenship into digital literacy and media studies; to effectively communicate with students and teachers about how to use technology responsibly in language they understand; and use strategies to promote collaboration among technology coordinators, curriculum supervisors, library media specialists and teachers.

Kim Zito (Makerspace/STEM/Tech - All) AR To Go: Extend your Impact and Reach into Classrooms: Extend your reach within your school by creating To Go Kits for use by teachers in the classroom. Learn about materials and tools for creating Augmented Reality To Go Kits--then adapt the idea to materials that you have in your library.

Integrating Digital Citizenship Lessons in Collaboration with Subject Area Teachers
Participants will learn how to create Digital Citizenship lessons while actively experiencing several lesson samples. These include class discussions, resource links, content frames, feedback and assessment forms while learning the technical “how to” steps for Google web pages.

Be a Leader: discover how to: · Add popular LGBTQ books in your collection · Incorporate important LGBTQ history into the library and school curriculum. · View LGBTQ students through my lens as a librarian and
therapist.

Laura Doughty (Instruction - High School) Matching the Primary Source to its Archival Collection: While analyzing primary sources documents for their Civil War Character Interview project, students learn how to use bibliographic information as well as primary source terminology to search for and locate the archival collection in which the document is housed, thus leading to the browsing and discovery of other useful primary sources.

Lisa Manganello (Instruction - High School) Summer Reading Redesign: Unhappy with the quality of the existing summer reading assignment, the South Brunswick High School English team, in partnership with the librarians, surveyed students and parents, revised expectations, and relaunched reading during the summer of 2019. This session will share our findings and how our new understanding will impact future assignments.

Joan Vicari (Community Engagement - All) The LibraryLink: The LibraryLink will present how to plan and implement free library programs to link your students and staff to each other, the school district, and businesses and organizations.

Betsy Wasiak (Instruction/Technology/Professional Growth - All) Google Classroom + Screencastify = Peaceful Librarian: Promote and streamline your library happenings 24/7 to parents, staff and students making your life a lot easier! After viewing screencasts and topics in a “library” Google Classroom, participants will be able to formulate ideas to create custom informational/promotional screencasts for their own libraries.
