The early reading needs of children for whom English is a second language are supported by the use of predictable books in the classroom. This workshop will examine the tenets of second language acquisition and the early reading experience of non-native English-speaking children. An overview of the different types of predictable books will also be highlighted connecting them to ELLs’ reading needs.
