Bruce DuBoff is a doctoral candidate at Rutgers University, School of Communications and Information (Library Information Science specialty), with an expected completion date of May 2022. His research focuses on the intersection of science fiction and STEM subjects and activities on the P-16 practitioner level and the cross-pollination of interest development and information search at the theoretical level. Bruce first became involved with the NJ Association of School Librarians’ board as Webmaster in 2010 and he was awarded the 2012 Villy Gandhi Scholarship. Bruce became deeply involved in AECT, the Association for Educational Communications and Technology, thanks to NJASL and the scholarship; he was an AECT 2018 Cochran Intern and Legacy Scholarship recipient, and he has served on the nominating committee, as member-at-large and Communications Chair of the TIL division, and as division representative to the Board. He is the incoming President of the AECT Technology Integrated Learning (TIL) division. Bruce has also served on the AECT Leadership Development Committee for several years. He was NJASL Conference Chair in 2014 and President in 2016, and Bruce still serves on the Finance Committee and the Standing Conference Committee. He recently retired after 26 years in Pennsauken as a K-12 teacher and librarian to pursue his studies full-time. Bruce intends to teach at the university level upon completion of his Ph.D.
